ABOUT VELPEN TRUCKING & DISPOSAL
In the summer of 1992, Roger Schmitt, was walking through his 130 acre piece of property surveying the year's corn crop. Comparative to other corn fields, Roger's ground was not yielding the type of results one might expect. "The crops were real bad that year because the ground just would not hold the moisture, " he said. "That's how I got the idea of creating a construction & demolition land fill."
After six long years of working through various permitting agencies and engineering firms, it became a reality in November 1998. Velpen C&D Landfill was formed and soon after came Velpen Trucking & Disposal.
Today, Roger and members of his family manage the companies. Roger has two children working full time in the family businesses. Additionally we have many family and friends that work for the companies. We share small town values and a strong "Old German" work ethic that is second to none. We invite you to give us a call for an estimate or to obtain your trash disposal business.
Velpen Trucking & Disposal is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business.
Our owner and president, Roger Schmitt, was wounded in action while serving our country in the US Army. Roger, a Purple Heart recipient, was wounded in action in Vietnam. At Velpen, we give thanks to those who serve our country and appreciate our customers who chose to do business with a local service disabled veteran owned business.
